The queen of hill stations - they call it. Thousands of acres of cultivable land! They grow oranges, apples, tea and cordamom! Altitude about 2500 meters above mean sea level. Boasts of some of the most scenic valleys. At its foothills, we have one of the most famous wildlife sanctuary - Mudumalai.
Ooty is 100 km away from Coimbatore, which has got airport, rail and bus connection from all major places. For people from Bangalore, the route is via Mysore. There is a toy train running between Mettupalayam and Ooty daily. The train starts from Mettupalayam in the morning and returns to the same place by evening.
Quite a chill place, round the year.
It is a beautiful hill station. The attractions are Botanical gardens, Doddbetta peak, Coonoon, Pykara dam, valley view, etc.
No problem at all. There are plenty of good restaurants attached to hotels as well as in town.
Woolen is a must.
